A Secondary Wiper Seal, also known as a Resilient Blade Seal, is a secondary rim sealing component installed between the floating roof and the tank shell of External Floating Roof Tanks (EFRTs) and Internal Floating Roof Tanks (IFRTs). It is designed to maintain continuous contact with the tank shell through a flexible sealing blade, effectively closing small gaps and minimizing hydrocarbon vapour leakage from the annular space.

The Secondary Wiper Tip Seal consists of a flexible polyurethane (PU), PVC-nitrile rubber or reinforced elastomer blade that continuously wipes against the tank shell. Its flexible construction allows it to accommodate tank shell irregularities, floating roof movement and variations in the annular space while maintaining reliable sealing contact.
