A Liquid-Mounted Seal (LMS), also known as a Liquid Contact Seal, Tube Seal, or Foam Seal, is a primary rim seal system designed for External Floating Roof Tanks (EFRTs). The seal is installed between the floating roof and the tank shell with its resilient sealing element maintained in continuous contact with the stored liquid. The system typically consists of a closed-cell foam core or elastomeric tube enclosed within a reinforced hydrocarbon-resistant fabric envelope. The seal is attached to the floating roof by stainless steel or galvanized clamp bars, allowing it to conform to tank shell irregularities while maintaining continuous sealing. Liquid-mounted seals provide excellent vapour-tight performance, significantly reduce evaporative losses and VOC emissions, and ensure reliable sealing during roof movement, thermal expansion, and changes in product level.

Material of Construction (MOC) : - The Foam Blocks will be 18 to 24 density Polyurethane (PU) foam sheet in octagonal shape and Envelope / Foam casing will be Nylon Fabric equally coated on both side with NBR / P U (Polyurethane) or FKM Rubber (Viton Rubber) as per compatibility of the stored product.
